Iowa Department of Public Health Reports 1,180 New COVID-19 Cases on Wednesday

The latest numbers from the Iowa Department of Public Health show hospitalizations from COVID-19 continue to rise, reaching another daily record.

 

A total of 1,180 COVID-19 cases were reported on Wednesday, brining the total number of positive cases to 101,812.

 

Eleven more Iowans have died from COVID-19, brining the total number of deaths since the pandemic began to 1,492.  Of those deaths, 753 were residents of long term care facilities.

 

Of the people who have tested positive, 79,049 are considered recovered.  A total of 873,190 individuals have been tested in the state.

 

As of Wednesday morning, there are 473 hospitalized patients with the virus in the state.  Of those patients, 106 are in intensive care with 46 of them on ventilators.
