Monday night, the Blue Earth City Council held a special meeting to review the latest new concerning the coronavirus.
Council members heard from the Public Works Department Director and the Police Chief on how the virus, quarantines and executive orders have impacted their departments. Both reported that essential services are still being provided by both departments.
The Council did approve some design changes to the plans for duplexes the city and a private contractor will be building this year. Mayor Rick Scholtes said with no committee meetings, the Council had to make some decisions so the projects would not be delayed.
Council Members also decided not to open the bush sight at this time due to the wet ground conditions and the coronavirus outbreak.
The Council will be holding another special meeting next Monday afternoon at 5pm to discuss the coronavirus and its impact on the City.
