Monday night the Blue Earth Area School Board Approved the revised budget for the 2020 school year and received the revised student enrollment numbers. As of February 9th, 1,022 students were attending classes at Blue Earth Area which is 4 less than in October of 2019, but higher than the total a year ago which was 1,004 students.
Board Members also approved, at a cost of $10,500, an agreement with Baird and Co to provide a 6 phase program to help the District evaluate their current financial position and make recommendations for fiscal reductions and adjustments for the future.
Another agreement approved by the Board was with Rapp Strategies, Inc. to design and implement public information and community engagement strategies as they relate to a possible November 2020 operating levy referendum. The cost of those services will total $9,500.
The Board also approved the retirement of Dar Holmseth as the Community Education Director, effective August 1st and accepted the retirement letters of three teachers, Donna Drescher, Amy Ankeny and Janet Gilreath.
