Voters in the Blue Earth Area School District Reject Levy Referendum

On Tuesday, voters in the Blue Earth Area School District rejected an excess levy referendum.

 

The School District reports the referendum failed with 756 no votes to 721 votes in favor of the referendum.

 

A breakdown of the votes showed that 449 yes votes and 309 no votes were cast at the Blue Earth voting location.

 

At the Winnebago voting location, 76 yes votes were counted and 200 no votes were cast.

 

At the Delavan voting location, 73 yes votes were cast along with 124 no votes.

 

At the Elmore voting location, 50 yes votes were tabulated, along with 70 no votes.

 

At the Frost voting location, a total of 73 yes votes were counted, compared to 53 no votes.

 

Also on the ballot Tuesday was a seat on the School Board, Jeff Eckles was elected to that position.

 

A total of 32.7% of the registered voters voted in Tuesday’s referendum vote in the Blue Earth Area School District.
