Over Half of MN and Iowa’s Corn & Soybean Rated in Good To Excellent Condition According to USDA

A reasonably dry week boosted the number of days suitable for fieldwork in Minnesota and Iowa last week.

 

According to the USDA Minnesota had 5.7 days rated suitable for fieldwork.  As of Sunday, Minnesota’s corn condition was rated 56 percent good to excellent and 59 percent of the state’s soybeans were rated in good to excellent condition.  Topsoil moisture supplies were rated 10 percent short, 80 percent adequate and 8 percent surplus.

 

In Iowa last week, 5.9 days were rated suitable for fieldwork according to the USDA.

 

As of Sunday, Iowa’s corn crop was rated 65 percent good to excellent and soybeans were rated 63 percent good to excellent.  Topsoil moisture supplies were rated 7 percent very short, 29 percent short, 62 percent adequate and 2 percent surplus.
