This week the Winnebago City Council approved two bids for the renovation of the bathrooms at City Hall, voted to replace the Whiting Park Playground and approved a flood plain management ordinance.
The Council also approved going to the County to see assistance in the demolition of the old Supervalu grocery store site on Main Street. The City is working on a grant for the project and is hoping the County will consider their request at the meeting in July.
Council Members also discussed 4 speed signs to be installed in the City. The City received an $11,000 grant from State Farm to cover the cost of the signs. The City will be conducting a speed study on Highway 109 and Highway 169 as part of the process in receiving the funding for the new signs.
The Council will be holding a work session on June 17th at 6pm, to focus on the School Building and the future of its development.
The next regular meeting of the Winnebago City Council is scheduled for Tuesday, July 9th.
