On Tuesday, the Faribault County Commissioners approved a resolution for the turn back of Highway 253, from Bricelyn to I-90 and Highway 254, from Frost to I-90. MnDOT and the County had been working on the agreements to turn back both roads to Faribault County. The agreement has the County taking over the roads in October of this year.
Board Members also authorized the County Engineer to negotiate an easement with Union Pacific Railroad on County Road 13, for the installation of signal equipment in Marna, approved advertising for 2019 fuel and gasoline supplies and approved a resolution for a 60 MPH Speed Study on Highway 16 in Faribault County.
The Board also received the Bi-annual Report from the County EDA, met with representatives from the City of Frost to discuss drainage issues on Highway 254 and tax forfeited properties and approved a resolution in support of a reimbursement grant from the State of Minnesota, in the amount of $34,152. The grant covers the costs related to the MN-LARS system.
