The Blue Earth Area School District has received two applications to fill an open seat on the School Board.
Interim Superintendent Dr. Jerry Jensen informed the Board that Jeff Eckles and Maria Frank both submitted their applications by last Friday’s deadline. The Superintendent will be contacting both applicants to set up and interview time to interview the applicants by the Board at a special meeting.
Board Members also approved a resolution authorizing the sale of general obligation bonds. If the bond sale happens within the next two weeks, the District is hoping to save anywhere between $175,000 and $220,000 over the life of the 13 year bonds.
The Board also approved the 2019-2020 Capital Expenditure Budget, approved the Community Education Staff wages and salaries for the 2019-2020 School Year and held a work session to review financial information to assist the Board in determining the need for an operating referendum.
