B.E. Council Approves Hiring John Oswald as New Liquor Store Manager

The Blue Earth City Council has approved the hiring of a new Liquor Store Manager.

Mayor Rick Scholtes said the Council followed the recommendation of the Personnel Committee and hired John Oswald as the new Liquor Store Manager.

Oswald will begin his new job before the end of the month and will be working with Craig Wells, the current Liquor Store Manager, for the next couple of months.  Wells will officially retire at the end of June.

The Council also approved a bow and arrow deer hunt to be held this fall.  Scholtes said the city will be working with the DNR on the dates and regulations for the special hunt.

The Council also received the 2019 Housing Study and passed a resolution approving the agreement between the city and Blue Earth Light and Water that will increase the fee the city pays for sending out utility bills and having the utility take over the cost of street lights for the city.
