Wet, Rainy Weather Slowing Harvest

Cool temperatures, clouds and rainfall were common throughout Minnesota last week and that created conditions that slowed down the harvest.

Nicky Moranowski, Director of the Faribault County FSA Office said that the rainy, wet weather has impact the harvest in Faribault County.

According to the USDA’s Weekly Crop report, Minnesota farmers had 2.9 days suitable for field work last week.

As of Sunday, 15 percent of Minnesota’s corn crop had been harvested, 5 days ahead of average and 37 percent of the state’s soybeans have been harvested, 6 days ahead of last year but 3 days behind average.
