Tuesday night the Winnebago City Council set the preliminary budget and levy at an 8.77 percent increase, or $47,745.
Administrator Chris Ziegler said he and the City Council will be working to lower the increase through December. The City will hold it’s Truth & Taxation Hearing on December 11th at 7pm.
The Council also approved the purchase of playground equipment at a cost of $24,000 to be matched by a 50 percent grant through the DNR.
Ziegler said the new equipment and upgrades to West City Park will make the park accessible to everyone of all abilities.
