Favorable Weather Helps Farmers Nearly Finish Planting

According to the USDA’s Weekly Crop Report there were 5 days suitable for fieldwork in Minnesota last week.


According to Nicky Miranowski, Director of the Faribault County FSA Office, area farmers took advantage of the favorable weather to plant almost all of this year’s crop.


Statewide, 87 percent of Minnesota’s corn crop has emerged, 2 days behind last year but two days ahead of average and 93 percent of the State’s soybean crop has been planted, 9 days ahead of average, while 65 percent of the state’s soybeans have emerged, 2 days ahead of average.
