Beginning May 1st, Minnesota will become the first state in the nation to require a 20% Bio-diesel blend in a majority of diesel fuel sold in the State.
The State is implementing the B-20 mandate that was passed in 2008.
The new blend is expected to displace an estimated 130 million gallons of petroleum diesel sold in the state.
Minnesota has been gradually increasing the bio-diesel blend in its diesel fuel since 2005. The law required switching to a 5% blend during the cold winter months.
