The Martin County Commissioners on Tuesday approved moving forward with development of a contract for a School Resource Office position for the GHEC School District.
The Personnel Committee met last week and came up with a proposal on a shared cost and recommended a 66/34 percent split between the School District and the County. The Commissioners approved going forward with that recommendation. The total cost of the Deputy would be $108,000 with the County’s share being $36,000.
Mandy Fletcher, Superintendent at GHEC attended the meeting and said she will take the recommendation back to her Board for their consideration.
The Board also approved negotiating and finalizing an agreement with the Department of Corrections for the lease of office space at the building at 117 North Main Street in Fairmont.
