The Blue Earth Area School Board has given their approval to the hiring of a third party consultant to review and examine the process used by the School District in its investigation of an incident involving four students, following the receipt of a report on November 6th, 2017 through December 8th, 2017 and the School District’s compliance with the Minnesota State High School League rules and by-laws.
Soldo Consulting of Woodbury, Mn was hired by the District to conduct the review and examination. The cost to the District for the services will be $145 per hour, plus expenses.
Michelle Soldo is an experienced labor and law attorney who has been practicing law in Minnesota since 1994 and has conducted several fact-finding investigations and process reviews on behalf of public and private sector employers for more than 25 years.
The Board also received the enrollment numbers for the District as of February 8th, those numbers were down from the enrollment numbers in October of 2017. According to Superintendent Evan Gaugh, the District looks at the numbers every February as part of the budget process.
The Board also gave their approval to the process of audio recording the monthly Board Meetings and approved a resolution designating February as kindness month in the District.
