A Faribault County man is facing felony arson and damage to property charges related to a house fire in Martin County last year.
According to the criminal complaint, 49 year old Robert Schultz of Wells has been charged with first degree arson and first degree damage to property after a house fire in Granada last August.
Fire Crews, Martin County Deputies and the State Patrol were dispatched to a fire in Granada on August 18th. Upon arrival, Law Enforcement had to rescue Schultz from the burning building.
After an investigation it was determined that the fire was started in a stove inside the house. During questioning Schultz allegedly admitted that he started the fire.
Damage to the home was estimated at around $15,000.
