Martin County Commission Approves State of Emergency

 

The Martin County Commissioners have approved a resolution declaring

Martin County to be in a state of emergency from conditions resulting

From the elevator explosion and fire in Northrop at the end of December. A total of 59 fire departments, 4 medical EMT groups, 3 law enforcement agencies and 12 civilian agencies assisted at the fire

scene.

 

The board also approved a proposal for an elevator replacement at the

security building at a cost of just over $124,000 dollars, reviewed a

Report on building permits issued in the county last year, that

number totaled 208, and changed their meeting time for June 19th to

4:30pm to coordinate with the County Board of Equalization meeting

set for that evening at 6:30pm.
