Is Carrie Underwood returning as “The Champion”?

ABC/Image Group LA There’s new music from Carrie Underwood — sort of. Part of a new track from the American Idol winner debuted Sunday during the NFL playoff game between the Atlanta Falcons and the Los Angeles Rams.

Carrie shared a clip of the song on her socials, though it’s often hard to hear clearly since it was mixed with play-by-play announcing. “I am invincible, unbreakable, unstoppable, unshakable,” she sings in the tune, which is likely titled “The Champion,” based on her hashtag.

It’s been quite a while since we’ve had new music from the 10-time CMA Awards host. The Oklahoma native released her final single from her 2015 album, Storyteller, in September 2016. “Dirty Laundry” made it to #1 a year ago in January.

Carrie’s next disc will be the first as part of her new deal with Universal and Capitol Nashville. So far, there’s no word on whether the new track will be a single or is part of a forthcoming album.
