The Blue Earth Area School Board held their first meeting of the year on Monday night.
Superintendent Evan Gaugh said the first meeting of the year is the organizational meeting for the Board. The Board chose Jesse Haugh as Chairman for 2018 and Frankie Bly was selected to serve as Vice Chairman.
The Board also approved a resolution directing the administration to make recommendation for reductions in programs and positions, which according to Gaugh is something the Board does every January to keep the budget on track. The Board is expected to approve the revised budget in March.
During the public input portion of the meeting, several people voiced their concerns over disciplinary action taken against four students involved in an incident involving students that did not occur on School District Property.
