Faribault County Commission Approves Sale of Courthouse Bonds


Yesterday the Faribault County Commissioners approved the sale of general obligation courthouse bonds for 1.4 million dollars and drainage system bonds for 6.1 million dollars. The interest rate on the bonds was 2.74 percent.


Board members also approved the purchase of a pickup truck, from Blake Greenfield Chevrolet at a price of $32,266 dollars. The county also received a bid from Fairmont Ford. Both are state contractor vendors.


The board also approved the hiring of Troy Thompson to work in the recorders office, approved the hiring of Wendy Brown to serve as the secretary in the Veterans Service Office, and discussed the restructuring of the county’s park system.


The board was also informed that the city of Easton will be taking over the recycling site there, and gave their approval of the all-hazard mitigation plan for the county.
